We attended a breath-taking wedding at the Van Dusen mansion, and had to write about it.
This 12,000 square foot palace went from a residence (until 1937) to school for law, medical professionals, Horst Cosmetology School (Aveda), and now is an event center.
It is a castle-like mansion, included with 10 fireplaces throughout, is picturesque for any event. They host weddings, corporate events (murder mystery night yes please), and even yoga on special days.
The bridal suite is spacious and adorable. It had many places to relax, and brightly lit space that replicates a salon for hair and make up to get ready with ease.
There was a lot to rave about as a guest. Eat your heart with the meal of your life, every detail in the architecture from 1892, sparklers in the courtyard under the romantic lights, a separate spot for dancing with a balcony to over look the dance floor when you need a break from dancing, the upstairs bar perfect for chatting with your friends/family without getting too loud (since the music is downstairs). We could totally go on and on with even more of a run on sentence, but I will stop. 😂
